Each milling program (G code) defines a work coordinate system and a workpiece zero point. The workpiece zero point must also be defined in the Mach3 software.

Proceed as follows:

1.) Use the buttons previously selected to move the X and Y axes to your workpiece, where you have defined your zero point in the CAD / CAM program.

2.) Click on "Zero X" and then on "Zero Y" - The zero points for the axes X and Y are now defined.

3.) There are 2 variants to define the workpiece zero point for the Z-axis:

Varante 1:

Take a paper to hand. Place the paper between the milling tool and the workpiece. Slowly move the Z-axis with the keyboard in the direction of the workpiece. At the same time you push the paper back and forth. As soon as the cutter prevents the paper from moving, stop further Z-axis feed.

Now click on "Zero Z" - The zero point of the Z axis is now defined

Use the keyboard to move the Z axis to a safety height before starting your program!

Variant 2:

The controller as well as Mach3 is designed for the extension for a tool length sensor. With the aid of a tool length sensor, the process of homing the Z axis can be automated.
